The short version

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was announced on May 28, 2026 and launches on October 23, 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Digital pre-orders also unlock campaign early access on October 16.

The Open Beta now has two official windows: Early Access from August 21-25 and an all-platform Open Beta from August 28-September 1. Digital pre-orders on eligible stores are validated automatically; participating retail orders use a code. The PC page keeps confirmed security requirements separate from the still-missing hardware requirements.

Latest official intel: Beta schedule

Official July 20 post

July 20: Beta dates

Activision scheduled Early Access Beta for August 21-25 and the all-platform Open Beta for August 28-September 1, including Nintendo Switch 2 in Weekend 2.

July 16: Dreadnought

Activision says the Aston Martin Dreadnought is a bespoke in-game tactical SUV for Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone, with launch availability in selected MW4 DMZ and Warzone points of interest.

July 15: Kill Block

Activision published Kill Block multiplayer intel and says Fanatics Fest NYC attendees are among the first public players during the July 16-19 event.

What it confirms

Kill Block is an adaptive multiplayer battleground built from two End Slabs and one Central Slab, with more than 500 possible configurations at launch.

What it does not confirm

This is not the Open Beta start date, not a beta playlist guarantee, and not the missing PC minimum or recommended hardware sheet.
